Before his entrepreneurial endeavors, Jeremy worked as a teacher at La Colina Junior High School and San Marcos High School for eight years as an educator in World History, Economics, and American Government. During his time there, he was known for his intentional design of school curriculums that helped prepare students for college coursework. Throughout his time as a teacher, he developed and implemented an interactive Economics program during the “Great Recession of 2008”. He was also instrumental in helping transition 30 first generation low-income students to college though Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID).

Jeremy Vaa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California at Davis and a Masters of Education from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He also is also expecting to complete a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Illinois in 2019. He has multiple certificates in professional development, including Financial Management from the University of Pennsylvania as well as a several San Francisco Toastmasters awards for competent and professional communication.

In addition to his professional career, Jeremy is an outdoor enthusiast with a love for an active lifestyle. During his time as a high school educator, he coached the high school surf team to a second place award in the Central Coast Scholastic Surf Series. In college, Jeremy was an All-American and Captain of his college swim team. He has competed in sprint, olympic and Half Ironman triathlons throughout California. Currently, he is an avid cyclist and all-around lover of the outdoors. For Jeremy, the same passion that drives him to continually improve Green Light Student Travel is the same one that motivates him to get out and explore for himself.
